A did a few paintings for my show coming up at Red Hot Robot this Friday. One of which has been about 4 years or so in the making. back when I did a lot more watercolor, I did a study painting of a reimagined Alice in Wonderland as I am very fond of the whole wonderland world and it’s convoluted symbolism and bizarre storyline.
I really enjoyed painting that study, and since sold it to a friend of a friend. I had always wanted to revisit the idea and when I lined up the show, I decided it was time to take another stab at the idea. I also decided, if I was going to revisit it, I want to make it more available to folks that like it, so I had a limited edition of 25 giclee prints made up for the show as well.

“Alice of the Arcane”
Acrylic on canvas 32″x24″
because my entire show was themed around a world of arcane, I decided to push the design a bit in that direction a bit this time around. The script on Alice’s scroll is an excerpt from the Jabberwocky poem from the story as well. This is my largest painting to date, and probably the most characters I’ve placed in one image as well. The original painting will be available for sale the night of the show as well.
The prints will be available at the show as well, they are smaller than the original, but still pretty large, on 18×24″ paper. The prints will be available both online and in store for $80 US, with shipping charge to be yet determined (I’m guessing $10 or so domestic)
If you would like to scoop one up and aren’t in Phoenix, feel free to shoot me an email at Josh (at) fplusnever.com to be put on the preview list for online purchases for the show.
