They marched like a brilliantly shimmering parade through the square,
Their majik auras gently vibrated the surrounding bystanders.
Although many feared the army, they couldn’t help but stand in awe of the sight.

As the soldiers made their way through the massive city toward the palace of the Principatus, their candles unnaturally vibrant flames cast an eerie glow
against the poplars and marble buildings that made up the city.

As they reached the base of the palace steps, they were met by a formidable wall of battle ready white wizards and warriors, waiting for them at the top of the steep stairs.

From the sea of strange light below, two candles, burning brighter than any others, parted the sea of colourful torches. A single codexian came out from the ranks and knelt to one knee, casting his prismatic sword into the soft earth beside him, the two candles smoldering atop his head.

“My name is General Daval Razikan” he announced. “And we are the Black Candelabra. We are not judge, nor jury…” He said while raising his head. He paused for only a moment. It felt like an eternity, as the air become strangely still. The only sound, the soft hum of majik. It felt as threatening as a viper, coiled to strike.

“We are simply executioners, and this palace of yours, shall be your gallows….”

ORDER OF THE ARCANE

11-13-09 will be a Friday the 13th to remember:

Flyer back

Astral codexian

The piece in the picture is called the “Astral Codexian” and he comes on a clear acrylic stand so he can “float/meditate” he also has wings made of real crystal and his robe shifts from purple to green depending on the angle you look at it. Seriously, pics do not do it justice. this piece looks insane in person.

The entire show is focused on this world of mythos and Majik I’ve created. There will be many new custom vinyls, paintings, and a very exciting print release (if all goes according to plan). I’ll also be doing an online preview, if anyone wants to be added to the email list, just email Josh@fplusnever.com with “Preview” in the subject line.

Here’s a little background on this particular piece (every piece will have a little story with them):

“The astrals are the least seen and understood of the houses of Majik. The Astrals are believed to be the closest of the majiks to the enlightened, with abilities to bend and fold time and space itself. They are particularly wise and well tempered as “Transcended Codexians”. Due to their elusive nature, and ability to shift planes, Astrals are considered to be more of a wives’ tale than an actual entity.”

And some more pics:

If you’re in the Phoenix area and can make it out, I’d definitely like to see ya!

Sweating to the oldies (i.e. 90’s alternative)

It’s been busy over here at the f+ compound. pretty much booked through september with commissions, (including a couple mega size pieces!) have a handful of freelance gigs to handle, and just locked in a solo show in mid november! So, for as busy as it’s been, it won’t hold a candle to how busy I’ll be between here and there.

With the impending pressure of about 90 sleepless nights, I have my Birthday tomorrow. So we’re heading to LA and San Diego for a little business/pleasure. A working vacation, (as usual) but a much needed one nonetheless.

In other exciting news, the “Black Majik Codexian” was extremely well received at the Munny Grubbers show, getting first place in the show! I was a bit surprised and a tad relieved, as this is a creature of my own creation, and I intend to make many more of these to inhabit this world I’ve created. Also, the Black Majik is available still, here.

That said, as some of you may know, there’s a second leg to the show. An online contest hosted by www.deliciousdrips.com. If you want to show him some love, I know he’d appreciate it: just register, and vote (the closer to delicious, the better!)
Here’s the direct link to him: http://www.deliciousdrips.com/submissions/submission.php?i=204

Lastly, I never want to make a post just text, so here’s some pics of my recently finished commission. He’s a 20″ mega munny based on the x-men character Cable. Big Thanks to Zac for the opportunity to do this piece for him!

Cable Mega Munny

The gun is hand sculpted out of resin. I wanted to go bigger, but it would have been to heavy and he wouldn’t be able to lift it. :(

This was my first mega munny, so it came with it’s own set of challenges, but all in all I really enjoyed working this big. Definitely looking forward to going big again soon! I’m ordering magicsculpt 20lbs at a time these days!

anyways, as always, thanks for all the love and support everybody! more developments for you soon!

Keep on rocking in the free world,

Josh f+
