Here’s a painting I did last year an and didn’t get a chance to take a picture of before it was sold. The owners where kind enough to let me borrow it so I could add it to my portfolio and I figured it deserves some special attention. Seeing this piece again really reinforced some of the ideas I have been tossing around lately. Especially considering I’ve come quite a ways since i painted this.
I have invented a lot of creatures to inhabit my little world, but these are some of my favorite! They’re called battle lemurs. Although, they are normally very gentle, skittish creatures that don’t have many natural predators. Mainly for the fact that all battle lemurs have some sort of weapons for antlers. The two scene here are sword and mace lemurs, but I have designs for switchblade and axe lemurs, even a grenade lemur! I’m going ot do a lot more with these guys in the future as part of my next body of work. And this next step in my career is really going to be probably one of the most shaping steps for me as an artist and for my signature in what I do. So stay tuned, and enjoy watching things as they develop!
Thanks to everyone for all their continued support, these are tough times for everyone, and I am truly grateful people appreciate my work so much.
